The Orange Hospital Advocacy Plan is designed to help you manage and reduce hospital debt in the event of an emergency or unexpected hospitalization. Our goal is simple: to minimize your financial burden so you can focus on recovery not bills.

 

With this plan, you gain:

How does it work?

When you enter the hospital due to an emergency, at any hospital in the country you will be treated, after a reasonable time the debts will arrive at your home, you will contact one of our advisors to activate the hospital defense program.

To access the service, you must:

  • Be an active member of the Hospital Expense Benefits Program that includes Patient Advocacy at the time of your medical incident or hospitalization.

  • Receive care for a related medical incident that results in a hospital bill, emergency clinic bill, or surgical center bill; and

  • The total cost of those services must exceed $2,500 — or — if you have a scheduled admission and are denied access due to a requirement to pay upfront, the institution or your doctor must confirm that the charges are likely to exceed $2,500.

How to Access the Service?

You should call our toll-free Customer Service number, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and let them know you're calling about Patient Advocacy. They will ask a few questions to verify your eligibility.

  • Once the call is completed, the representative will send your information to our Advocacy team. You will be contacted by one of their representatives within 2 business days.

  • Our Advocacy team will send you a Medical Information Release Form to complete via email (if possible) or by mail. This document gives your medical providers permission to speak with your Advocate/Negotiator and is fully compliant with HIPAA.

  • You will also be asked to send copies of the medical bills you need help negotiating—via fax, email, or mail.

What Happens Next?

Your Advocate/Negotiator will ensure you understand your options and help you determine the best way to use your available funds. Depending on your financial situation, your Advocate may pursue a variety of solutions, including:

  • Assisting you in applying for financial aid

  • Negotiating a discounted settlement

  • Setting up an affordable payment plan with your medical provider(s)

The plan is NOT insurance. The plan provides discounts at certain healthcare providers for medical services. The plan does not make payments directly to the providers of medical services. The plan member is obligated to pay for all healthcare services but will receive a discount from those healthcare providers who have contracted with the discount plan organization. The program and its administrators have no liability for providing or guaranteeing medical service or the quality of the medical service rendered. This is not insurance nor is it intended to replace insurance. This discount card program contains a 30-day cancellation period. Enrollment Fees ($30.00 to $10.00 depending on the plan being purchased) cover shipping of Provider Directory, Member ID and other necessary documentation (usually 7 to 10 business days).

You may terminate participation within the first 30 days and receive a full refund on any fees or dues paid, less the non-refundable processing fee. After the first thirty (30) days, you may
